Backup and Restore to new hardware

  • Remove those licenses that new hardware doesn't

  • Ensure configuration are synced: On Active device

    • list cm device-group

    • tmsh run cm config-sync force-full-load-push to-group $device_group

  • Archive config: System > Archives > New Archive to extract configuration in UCS files

    • Download ucs file which will be uploaded to new guest in new hardware

  • Go to old hardware: and provision corresponding guest (shut it down)

    • VCMP: Guest list, then select and provision to shut it down

  • Go to new hardware: Tenant Management > Tenant Deployments

    • put it the same IP address, gateway, VLANS and so on

    • Number of CPU

    • Then deploy

  • Setting resource provisioning for new guest to match old one

  • Upload archive (downloaded before) to new guest on new hardware: System > Archive > Upload file

  • Get the master key from old working (active) guest and put to new guest in new hardware

    • f5kmu -k: get the key from old guest

    • f5kmu -r $keyfromaoldguest: to new guest

  • Load configuration to new guest on new hardware: tmsh load /sys ucs $filefromuploadstepabove.ucs not platform-check

    • Wiat for it to apply configuration

  • Sync configuration from old active guest to new standby one
